in the Americas, namely Santo Domingo, the country's capital and Spain's first capital in the New World. Santo Domingo can boast of many firsts in the Americas, including the first cathedral, and castle, both in the Ciudad Colonial area. Playa Grande is probably the most pleasing golf course in the Dominican Republic. There must be seven holes that border the ocean and the views are breathtaking .
South Coast Island: So many places, you just may have to return again like so many South Coast visitors do! Isla Saona is probably the most popular day trip, with folks coming from as far as Punta Cana to spend a few precious hours on its magnificent shores. Isla Catalina is another popular spot for daytrippers.
Lake Enriquillo: It is inhabited by lizards,some reaching lengths of two feet . and Crocodiles can be seen from time to time.
Saona Island : located southeast of the Dominican Republic deserted Caribbean island, overrun with tourists.It ha gorgeous beach .

One may be more historical, another visiting Los Tres Ojos (in spite of the name, actually four cave ponds), the Amber Museum , an emphasis on shopping, or many other areas of focus; but all will concentrate a part of time on the Zona Colonial . This is the area where the Rio Ozama meets the Caribbean and the site of the oldest city in the Americas. The oldest cathedral in the Americas and many Columbus sites are found here as well.
El Pomier :The cave of the pomier is considered the capital of the painting art of all the Caribbean. The Pomier Caves are the most extensive example of prehistoric art discovered in the Caribbean. They
are a set of cavities made a million years ago that were used by the indigenous settlers of th Hispaniola as a refuge against the forces of the nature and as a center to manifest their culture.
The caves are located in San Cristóbal, in a place called Pomier. The name arose as a result of a visit that the French made to the zone, where they found the mamon a very frequent fruit in the zone, and was very similar to the apple, that is why they called it Pomier.
Nightlife :You can find nightclubs ,restaurants and you can dance with salsa music .
Dominican Republic Cuisine :is predominantly made up of a combination of Spanish, indigenous Taíno, and African influences.All or nearly all food groups are accommodated in typical Dominican cuisine, as it incorporates meat or seafood; grains, especially rice, corn and wheat; vegetables, such as beans and other legumes, potatoes, yuca, or plantains, and salad; dairy products, especially milk and cheese; and fruits, such as oranges, bananas, and mangos. However, there is heaviest consumption of starches and meats, and least of dairy products and non-starchy vegetables.
